FAQs
  • HOW DOES IT WORK

Different wavelengths of light from the Duetto MT the worlds first mixed technology laser is absorbed by the water in the skin underneath and around the nail creating heat. This heat helps to destroy the dermatophytes definition and eliminate the fungal infection.

  • HOW IS THE TREATMENT CARRIED OUT

The treatment process starts with a private consultation with a highly skilled New You Laser Clinic therapist, where the presence of nail fungus will be established. An effective treatment plan will be designed for eliminating your fungal nail infection. The laser process will then be carried out, the laser applicator is placed on the nail and a short pulse of light is released. The entire nail bed and nail matrix will be treated in this way. Your therapist will apply anti-fungal spray to the foot. Your personal therapist will finally explain the preventative steps required to prevent further infection and assist in a successful treatment outcome.

  • HOW LONG DOES TREATMENT TAKE

Treatments generally take approximately 30 minutes.

  • HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED

Treatment is carried out every 4-6 weeks, a course of 4 treatments are required to achieve optimum results.

  • IS LASER TREATMENT SAFE

Laser fungal nail removal is simple, safe, and can produce excellent results.

  • HOW DOES THE TREATMENT FEEL

A degree of heating and some discomfort is felt during treatment. However, a skin cooling device will be used to help make treatment as comfortable as possible.

  • ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS

The side effects of laser treatments for fungal nails are generally mild and transient (unlike the side effects of some of the medications used to treat fungal infections). The area may be red immediately after treatment and may be a little swollen and tender, but this usually subsides within a few hours.
